It seems that now a days no one was taught any manners, what so ever!
So, since you parents did not have the decency to bring you up with them, I have took it upon myself to share you what my parents and especially grandmother have taught me.
Yes, I do understand that there are also cultural differences and some behaviors may be allowed else where; but the world is becoming more and more westernized everyday. There is a common comportment that we should always stand by.
So lets start by step 1: if you are visiting, moving...etc to another country you need to educate yourself on what is right or wrong in that culture and only then you may adapt your manners to theirs.
Example: Burping is allowed in many cultures after a meal like in China. Slurping your soup is also considered a good behavior for the Chinese, showing that you are enjoying what you are eating. Any act of being well feed and full (picking your teach, laying back...etc) is considered good manners and if not done it's considered rude. So it is your responsibility to find these things out before you go offending people because you are ignorant.
Also, it is common sense, that by visiting other countries you at least learn a few words in their language. Don't expect everybody to speak English!
I hear Italians in Spain saying "Grazie" all the time, is it soooo hard for you to say "Gracias"? That drives me crazy...
And maybe I have gone mad, but I just do not get it. I do not get how people do not have common sense, because that's what manners are... common sense and decency to one another.
In this blog I will teach you what I was taught and believe to be the right way to behave in amore or less civilized world.
